Bio

Menzer is an accomplished leader who has distinguished herself as one of the influential leaders in the engineering industry. Her aptitude for strategic and critical thinking has been recognized through the critical leadership roles she has been appointed with. As a leader, Menzer has been spearheading the change in the engineering industry by promoting the crucial role that engineers play in shaping the future and changing the world and by exemplifying a strong and dynamic role model to inspire and empower the next generations, especially women, in engineering and leadership.​

 

Menzer is the Regional Lead of Northwest Tunnel and Engineering Practice at Jacobs, where she manages over 35 engineers across five offices. In addition, Menzer leads Jacobs’ Earthquake Engineering Community of Practice, which ensures Jacobs' team adopts the advances in the constantly evolving earthquake engineering field to deliver state-of-the-practice solutions for our clients.

 

​A strong advocate of inclusion and diversity (I&D), Menzer serves in several leadership positions advancing I&D within the industry and the company. She is the global co-chair of Jacobs’ OneWorld Employee Network, which focuses on enhancing cultural intelligence and inclusion across the global company.​Through her ability to work across multi-functional, global, and cross-cultural teams, Jacobs team under her leadership developed one of the two most innovative solutions that in utilizing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to drive differentiated business growth as a part of the United Nations Global Compact Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Innovators Program and chosen to present at the 2021 UN Global Compact Innovators Summit during the 2021 UN General Assembly Meeting.​

 

Her achievements and impact within the industry have been recognized by prestigious awards: 2016 ASCE New Faces of Civil Engineering, 2017 ASCE President’s Medal, 2019 Middle East Technical University Recognition Award, and 2020 Engineering News-Record (ENR) National Top 20 Under 40.​

 

Menzer is the most prominently featured engineer in the 2017 “Dream Big: Engineering Our World” IMAX film, which illustrates the challenges and successes of civil engineering and inspires young people, particularly young women, to pursue studies in STEM. Menzer has delivered numerous keynotes and invited talks at international and national conferences, and conducted print and television interviews where she has laid the foundation to help redefine engineering, from a stereotype to an enticing public figure, attracting interest from the next generation.

 

​Menzer earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey, and earned her doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin.
